Question by Comancheria: Is there a protein/weight loss shake that’s for a nursing ?
I’m breastfeeding, but I’d like to lose weight with the help of shakes and snack bars in addition to eating healthy and being active. Preparing meals is difficult with two in diapers. What are my options and are there specific ingredients I should be wary of in weight loss shakes and snack bars? I’m looking for meal replacements as well as snacks.

There are plenty of protein powders available but I the “safe” part is rather subjective. As you may know powders are geared towards bodybuilding and such so there are plenty of added compounds. I know kashi makes a protein powder that is soy based and doesn’t have any added chemicals. There are also several whey protein powders that don’t have added BCAA’s and sweeteners. But as always prior to ingesting any of these products take it in to your OB and ask if it’s safe. You could prolly consult a lactation consultant or someone at La Leche.

I was thinking about drinking vinegar to clean my body out dangerous toxins and to help me lose a little weight,is that safe.

I have 3 months to lose 1.5 stone! Apart from the obvious, eating less and exercising more does anyone have any tips on stomach toning (post baby) and general weight ? I am very impatient and get demotivated if I dont see results!

How to make vinegar from honey?

How do you make from honey? I have a lot of honey and want to make from it. How long will it take to make the from honey? Are there any special materials I would need? If so, where can I get the materials I need for it?

to make vinegar you need alcohol… vinegar is the results from the fermentation of alcohol.

so you need to ferment the honey into “mead” a honey based alcohol drink…

After you have alcohol, you need the vinegar bacteria. I’ve used raw, unfiletered apple cider vinegar to make vinegar..

1. Search the internet for instructions to make mead or some type of alcohol based beverage…. Check your local brewery supply store for yeast.

2. Once you have alcohol*, you need a “mother of vinegar”… use raw, unfiltered cider or your brewery supply store may have that too.

*Note: You need to dilute the alcohol content to about 10 to 15% alcohol content by volume.

I suggest making the vinegar in a wide glass mixing bowl since glass won’t react to the vinegar.

Cover with a paper towel or cheese cloth to keep out the fruit flies and dust.

Store in a warm dark place… and allow the process to take place.

Special tool you may need…
1. A way to measure alcohol content, a brewery supply store will have that info.
